Advisory Boards

The Board of Directors will reduce 2-4 Advisory Boards as needed. An Advisory Board must consist of 4-10 members incl. the chairman of the Advisory Board (an elected board member). The term of office of an Advisory Board is determined by the Board of Directors.

The other members of the reduced Advisory Boards are also appointed by the Board of Directors. As a starting point, these are appointed among Billund ErhvervsFremmes members. In addition, the Board may appoint members who are not members of Billund ErhvervsFremme as required. The aim is that an Advisory Board is widely represented – professionally and geographically in the municipality.

The Board of Directors establishes the rules of procedure and commissions for each of the established Advisory Boards.

In addition, the Supervisory Board may at any time set up special committees to resolve tasks covered by the purpose clause.

The Board of Directors has decided to launch the Advisory Boards in 2020.

Billund Municipality

Billund municipality is part of the Triangle area – Denmark’s Production Center – and is one of the country’s smaller municipalities with around 27,000 inhabitants. The municipality is known by most Danes as the hometown of LEGO and LEGOLAND. But DuPont Nutrition Biosciences, Billund Airport and Lalandia are other good examples of well-known lighthouses for business development in the municipality, which are generally characterized by great entrepreneurial and international outlook.

With growing tourism, a generally high level of activity, low unemployment and one of the country’s widest range of youth education combined in Campus Grindsted, the municipality of Billund is ready to continue the positive business development in the coming years. The location in the midst of strong centers of higher education in Kolding, Esbjerg and Herning allows for further competence development and attracting innovative and knowledge-intensive companies and employees to the municipality of Billund.

Billund Municipality has a stated vision to be the Children’s Capital. A vision that focuses, among other things, on attracting and developing companies in creativity, play and learning.
