"The well-being of young people – both at work and in their free time – is incredibly important to us, and that is why we have chosen to support the initiative with the Apprentice and Student Network in Billund Business", Jørgen Ingemann Møller, branch manager of Sparekassen Kronjylland, explains the reason why the company has chosen to distribute DKK 25.000 from their Gift Fund to the network.
Sparekassen Kronjylland has its own trainee, Mads Pagh, in the network, and at the latest event, where Sparekassen Kronjylland was the event sponsor, the network gathered for a handball match between GGIF and KIF in Grindsted. Before the match, Mads gave a presentation on personal finances for young people who are moving away from home, and what to be aware of when you suddenly find yourself responsible for your own finances. There was a great deal of interest in questions among the young people who listened to Mads' presentation.
"The student network gives me the opportunity to meet new people, develop myself personally, get sparring with other students and have some cool experiences with other students from the area", says Mads Pagh about being part of the Apprentice and Student Network in Billund Business.
Marie Skov Lillelund, director of Billund Erhverv, says about the support from Sparekassen Kronjyllands Gavefond: “We are incredibly happy to receive support for the Apprentice and Student Network from Sparekassen Kronjylland and from our other members, and we look forward to seeing the network grow.”
More and more companies and organizations are supporting the Apprentice and Student Network, either by enrolling their apprentices and students in the network, by becoming partners, event sponsors or by providing financial support to the initiative. Jørgen Ingemann Møller also expresses his hope that even more local companies will follow suit and support the Apprentice and Student Network:
"It's about the area's future settlement and workforce", says Jørgen Ingemann Møller.
A gathering point for community, personal development and local engagement
Billund Business Apprentice and Student Network was launched in early 2025 and currently has 130 apprentices and students. The network has so far met for three events, where both social community and local experiences have been in focus.
"We want to show young people that our business community stands together to give them the best framework during their education. It's about meeting and creating a community with other young people, but also about young people seeing all the job opportunities in the area and perhaps also becoming curious about the area in relation to settlement," says Marie Skov Lillelund, director of Billund Erhverv, about the reason the network was established.
The Apprentice and Student Network holds 10 annual events for young people and two annual networking events for the companies that are part of the network.
The next time the Apprentice and Student Network will meet, it will be in Legoland, where the network has been invited to the park on a closed day.
The Apprentice and Student Network is also supported by Ole Kirk's Foundation, HK Sydjylland and the Danish Trade Union Confederation.
